OSA05: Phoenix Rising

Overall the property was very nice. We were given access much earlier than anticipated and the property was cleaned fairly well. The rooms and layout are exactly how theyre shown on the Village Realty website. It is a very beautiful home and accommodated 15 of us comfortably. The pool area was perfect and heavily used by our family. Access to the beach was an easy 5 minute walk down the road and the beach itself was really nice. The house was also conveniently located between Duck and Corolla for shopping and eating purposes. However, our stay was not without issue. The major issues were a non-working toilet and a broken dishwasher. Maintenance was contacted and the toilet was fixed promptly. As for the dishwasher, it was never fixed. This was particularly disappointing as one of the draws was having two of everything to accommodate 15 people. We felt a little cheated in that regard. Aside from that the issues were relatively minor. They included slow drying dryers and a number of light bulb outages. The only other complaint would be the mattresses. After speaking with everyone the consensus was that they are very uncomfortable and they need replaced badly. My particular mattress extremely worn and horribly uncomfortable. Nevertheless, overall I would stay there again and would recommend to family and friends keeping the minor caveats in mind.

This was a great house for my family. We had 14 people in the house for the week. It is a little bit of a walk to the beach, but worth it for the price. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking equipment and the double ovens were great. Pool area was fantastic.

We absolutely loved this rental!It had the best stocked kitchen, no need to bring anything extra with you. It is decorated so nice, loved the animal themed rooms. The view out the back is one you will not find very often, we watched deer and birds all week.Its so private, nobody looking at us in the pool from a neighboring house. Nice short walk to the beach access. Ocean Sands is one of the most beautiful areas in Corolla. We would definitely rent this house again!

The location of the house is WONDERFUL! When we arrived, the house was squeaky clean and inviting. Thank you owners and Village Reality for making this a special experience for my work team.

This was our first time renting with Village Realty. Our stay was great and we really enjoyed Phoenix Rising. This house was the best we've ever stayed at in all our years at the Outer Banks. The location is great and it is somewhat landlocked which was really awesome. My wife's only gripe was that around the basketball court and driveway were considerable amounts of poison ivy. Also, when my wife discovered the kitchen sink leaking, Village Realty was exceptionally good and made two trips out to repair it. The first time, the technician arrived within five minutes of my call. The second time was a Saturday - and the technician still was there very promptly in the morning. Overall, a really great experience!
