The beautiful Elizabethan Gardens in Manteo are open seven days a week, year ’round. Village Realty VIPs receive $1.00 off of each ticket. Please present your Village Realty VIP card before buying your tickets. This is one of the places you must see while you are on the Outer Banks. The gardens were created for everyone’s enjoyment and as a living memorial to a time when Sir Walter Raleigh’s lost colonists lived here over 400 years ago. So much to see…a sound-front Elizabethan gazebo, a magnificent collection of Renaissance statues, and the ever-changing palette colors from native plants, camellias, hydrangeas and perennials.
The Mission of the Elizabethan Gardens:
“We are dedicated to preserving the beauty and tranquility of The Elizabethan Gardens as a tribute to the first English colonists in the New World at the site of the original settlement. We seek to create inspirational garden displays and provide educational opportunities that encourage an appreciation of the art of gardening. We are committed to sharing our unique history, continually improving The Gardens, enhancing the quality of the visitors’ experience, and being good stewards of The Gardens.”
