Buck Island is one of the most sought-after locations in the northern Outer Banks. This gated community contains an Olympic size swimming pool, kiddie pool, tennis and basketball courts - all located within 500 feet of the house. The beach is approximately 1650 ft. away and the community's oceanside cabana bathhouse is an added convenience! Stayed April 2024

"Great stay. Neighborhood and proximity to everything was perfect. Only downfall we had was the water heater wasn’t turned on the pool until Tuesday and we arrived Sunday. So the pool wasn’t used much, but the kids enjoyed the hot tub. Highly recommend and hope to be back. Highly recommend the wild horse tour! "

"The only glitch was in the check-in communication it was stated if it was a gated community that the gate code would be included in the communication, but no code was provided so my assumption was it was not a gated community. Upon arrival we discovered it was a gated community. Fortunately when we arrived the office hours were still in effect so we were able to reach someone to ask what the gate code was, but had we arrived later in the day we would have had to call the after-hours emergency line and not sure how responsive that line is….glad we arrived at the time we did so we didn’t need to find that out. The staff we spoke to was wonderful and very apologetic about the code not being included in the communication."
