WH603: A Shore Pleasure

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at A Shore Pleasure. Loved the location, only a short walk to the beach (even the 4-year old didn't mind the walk). There is also a public parking lot near the beach, we used that a few times. About a 3-minute drive to Food Lion and Tim Buck II (shopping plaza). About a 5-minute drive to the light house, ice cream store, and book store. We went to church Easter Sunday at the Corolla Chapel, a wonderful little church. The house was clean upon arrival (with a few minor exceptions). The kitchen was fantastic, well equipped and we loved the two dishwashers. The dining room table has a downward slope due to a cracked leg, but it worked out well for the little ones-making it easier to reach. The bedrooms were great, we used 6 of the eight bedrooms. Everyone agreed the beds were very comfortable. Plenty of furniture on the decks. Grill worked fine. The hot tub was a big hit (it was sunny every day, but only in the 60's some days). The pool was cold, but the grandkids went in it almost every day. I would highly recommend this property. We had a fantastic vacation!

The house was great, and we werr especially impressed with how well the kitchen was stocked with dishes and cookware. We had a maintenance issue on day 2 which was addressed within an hour. Will definitely consider this house again.

House seems a little smaller that what we were expecting. Pictures on the website made it seem a little bigger than it was. Overall not too bad. A few of the dining room chairs had broken bottoms though. A family member actually fell out of one because a screw snapped out. Luckily, we were able to fix it. Dresser drawers in the master bedroom were broke. One of the bottom drawers had a back piece that was out and the cardboard pieces were coming out too. We were told not to use the pool lights by a maintenance person on our second or this day there because it attracts bugs. However, the first night my family used the pool, the lights were not used because they didn't know it had them and still had bugs around the pool. We were not able to use the vacuum provided because there weren't any bags and it did not work correctly, so we swept up as much as we could through out the week and before we left. We did have an AC issue toward the end of our stay and had a quick response, which was great!
