We loved stayed here! You can tell the owners want their guests to feel at home. They took the time to label all light switches , directions on how to use their what looked like new washer and dryer etc. Each room has a tv with a Roku, plenty of extra pillows and blankets, the beds were all very comfortable as well. The backyard was great for the kids! The pool is nice but for filled with sand pretty quickly from the wind but was cleaned half way through the week. We had 4 adults and 3 kids under 3! We enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

Overall we really enjoyed our time and the size of the house was perfect for our group. I would say it could use a deep cleaning more often. Ceiling fans were all very dusty, vents were very dusty, as well as light fixtures. Game room and downstairs fridge were nice to haveBackyard behind the pool could use some work, sand and part weeds, cornhole boards are not really usable, they are falling apart
Rachel, Thank you for your comments. We are thrilled you enjoyed your stay, in the future give us a ring and we will get out to correct any missing houskeeping issues! We hope to see you next year.

Great location, very clean, well stocked. The only thing I would say that we were disappointed with was that we were told the backyard renovation would be complete by our arrival. It was not, the backyard was mostly dirt. It was not what we had expected and limited our planned use. Otherwise the house it self is fantastic.
Kris, thank you for leaving your kind comments, we do apologize that the yard work was not completed as of yet, we have had lots of rain these last few weeks and it has been holding projects up! We are delighted you had a great time and look forward to seeing you again next year.
Awesome Vacation ~ Queen Anne's Retreat June 8th - 15th 2019Lauranne, Matt, Amy, Kara, and R. from Columbus, Ohio
We totally enjoyed our stay at Queen Anne's Retreat! Each level of the home was decorated to support the area of visiting the Outer Banks! The lower level was great, which supported activities at the pool/patio as well as, the "game room" with having the refrigerator, microwave, and sink helped tremendously ( well planed) so that we didn't have to run up to the top level!! With the second level having the majority of bedrooms it was great to have the laundry/dryer there. Having a staircase from the second level with a balcony was perfect, however the view of the ocean was not there, the sunrise was beautiful. The top level was awesome, totally enjoyed the up-to-date appliances we enjoyed baking and cooking! Jr. Chef's enjoyed baking a cake and decorating! The balconies were awesome, the view of the ocean you could see between the two houses in a distant! Sunrises were perfect! With having the Master Suite on the top level was warm and muggy, we tried to change the thermostat several times to 68, however always reflected 74. We were grateful for the ceiling fan in the Master Suite. We enjoyed the location as we could walk to the beach! The only concern we had was when we looked out from our window and saw a gentleman walking in the backyard thinking it was the "pool guy", however David was there to plant flowers!! Notified Village Realty and they were going to check with the owner to why this occurred! Thank you for sharing your home as well enjoyed a very relaxing vacation at the Outer Banks!!
Thank you for your review. We are so happy that you enjoyed your stay at "Queen Anne's Retreat". We did verify with the owner that that was their landscaper that comes by the house once a week to maintain the grounds and keep everything looking good. They have asked the landscapers to remember to let guests know who they are and what they are doing at the house. We look forward to hosting your next Outer Banks vacation!
Awesome Vacation - Queen Anne's Retreat June 8th - 15th 2019Lauranne, Matt, Amy, Kara and R. from Columbus, Ohio
Queen Anne's Retreat is a beautiful home, decorated appropriate to the environment in which supports the Outer banks!! Each level of the home we totally enjoyed. The lower level, recreation area that supported the inside as well as, the outside entertainment with a refrigerator, microwave, sink so that you'd not need to run to the top upper level where the kitchen was (great job in planning)! Second level where the majority of the bedrooms were included a balcony looking to the ocean, however due to the homes that level we couldn't really see the ocean, but breath taking sunrises!! Having the laundry on the second level was perfect as well! Access staircase to the patio/pool area was great too! The third/upper level was very nicely decorated and up-to-date appliances!! A patio off the upper level was great with also a great view to see the ocean! With the upper level it tend to be the warmest/muggy area even though the air conditioner was on and cooking/baking increased the area. Thermostat was set on the third level at 74 , we definitely changed to 68 however always stayed the same. The ceiling fan in the Master suite was a blessing on the upper level. The pool/patio area was definitely great, we spent many hours enjoying!! Only negative was we had a gentleman in the backyard and wasn't told to expect anyone, we thought was the "pool guy" however he was there to plant flowers, which Village Realty was notified and they took care of our concern very timely! We had an awesome week and we hated to say "goodbye". Thank you for sharing your home!
Excellent stay, great location.Jason from Salem, Ohio
Great house in a great location. Has a nice ocean view from the decks even though it sits a block back. The fishing pier allows you to see the water clearly. Updated backyard area was very nice and the Weber grill was a bonus. Location is close to everything and very convenient. The newer droid and apple chords in all the room with holders was very nice to have. I would definitely recommend this home and stay again.

This was our fourth time to rent this home. It is a beautiful home. The location is perfect, close to everything. Sadly , we can't rent this home next year because it is no longer dog friendly.
The only issue this year was the upper living area was warm & muggy. It was hot & humid out & the thermostat was set at 74 on the third floor & guests were not able to turn it down. The lower & mid levels were fine. Perhaps having it set to 72 would be better. As always, it was a wonderful week.
Thank you David for your 5 star review. I am so happy to hear you enjoyed your time while here as our guest. You are right, the location of Queen Annes Retreat really is close to everything the Outer Banks has to offer. I would like to take this opportunity to apologize however, for the issues you mentioned with the thermostat. We have confirmed there was a problem with the thermostat that has since been repaired, in the future never hesitate to call us here at the office. We always love the opportunity to help, if it would make your stay that much more enjoyable.

Had a really good time. The house was everything you ask for cleanliness, amenities was great, views of the ocean and the pool was great. If it was a pet friendly house for 2019 we would have rented it again. But nonetheless it was still very nice even after we were delayed a day because of hurricane Florence. Great time was had by all!

It was one of the best vacations my family has had. One thing was a major disappointment, the hot tub. We were afraid to get in. Great location and very comfortable home.
Laura, thank you for your feedback on JR109! UPDATE 2019: We wanted to let you know that the owner has purchased a new hot tub which they have relocated to the expanded back yard area. It includes a shaded seating area and room to play corn hole, Frisbee or game of touch football! We look forward to hosting your next Outer Banks vacation and hope that you will visit Queen Anne's Retreat and enjoy all it has to offer!
