QA2: Slack Tide

The condos are in a great location, right on the oceanfront, with lots of great restaurants and things to do nearby. However, our unit could really use some upgrading. We actually stayed in one of the Quay units about 20 years ago, and this one feels like it was right out of the late 1990s. The Village Realty staff were terrific. They asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and we told them it was our daughter's 5th birthday--they had a wonderful surprise basket waiting for her when we arrived, and she was over the moon excited! Thank you for that extra special touch.

The place was very nice and roomy. There were a few items we had to have fixed. 2 electric outlets had to be replaced since they were damaged and dangerous. The door trim in the downstairs bedroom door that the door rests on was loose and they fixed roughly. There was a water spot on ceiling upstairs and a few marks in places on the painted walls. A lot of scuff marks on door frames etc that were probably made when furniture came in. We notified the realtor and they we out right away. The wet bar refrigerator had ice build up and wouldn't work. They came out and said it had been left open and froze. This was fixed right away. Nice paths to beach but the walk up to steps was steep and hard to get up without help.

We stayed in QA2 in July 2018. When looking for a place for this year's trip, I didn't find anything I liked better. The condo grounds are landscaped nicely and well kept. The tenants and other guests are friendly. The pool area is kept clean. (A swimming pool is a must for my grandkids!) The condo is spacious and comfortable. Also, the milepost 14 area is not as crowded as areas further north.

This was a wonderful vacation. Perfect size for a family of 4-6 people. I loved the privacy of the balcony and easy walk onto the beach via walkway. The swimming pool was also a nice benefit we used nearly daily. This condo was clean and had all of the essential cooking supplies.

My family and I stayed at the Quay A2 for 5 nights over Spring Break. We absolutely enjoyed our time there. The location was excellent - not too far from any shops or restaurants (Food Lion, Fresh Market, etc., were a 3 minute drive). The layout was amazing ; it is a very efficiently designed townhouse that manages to hold 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, and not feel cramped at all. Views of the ocean were best from the top floor, although because the building is angled, you didn't get a full ocean view. The kitchen was well-equipped, and all the appliances that we did use, seemed to work (note: we did not switch on the TVs in either of the bedrooms). We only have 2 "complaints" to make though. First, that the WiFi was not working when we go there, and could not be fixed until the 2nd to last day that we were there (sorry, we're internet addicts). This had nothing to do with the realty company, it was squarely on the shoulders of the ISP. In fact, I was impressed by how quickly Village Realty responded to our service request (we also needed some new light bulbs). The second "complaint" meanwhile (I use the quotation marks with the hope that nobody holds these complaints against the townhome's owners and VR) has to do with A2's decor. This was a concern I had while looking at the pictures - that the decor was older, and therefore the house would smell musty/moldy. Happily, this turned out not to be the case. While A2 does need some updating from a decor perspective - new paint, doors and door frames, bathroom, etc. , it was not house-wide. The living room and ocean-view bedroom looked like they had been updated in the last few years. It just needs a little more love from its owners! Overall, we would not hesitate to return to Nags Head and stay here. Now the question is when???

We came here to have a small family Thanksgiving. The house was clean, the kitchen fully stocked with appliances and everything I needed to cook a nice Thanksgiving for the 4 of us. We had a relaxing time and kids were happy playing game, watching movies and eating delicious food. The beds are comfortable and view from the top floor is great.
This was home away from home for the 4 days we were here.

The Quay A2 met all of our vacation needs. The facility was spacious and well kept. Parking was adequate. My husband and I would stay here again and are thinking about making this a yearly trip for us.

Our week at Nags Head was very relaxing. We were pleasantly surprised the unit had been updated with new TVs and living room furniture. There were a few things that need to be addressed and we notified the rental company but all in all the unit met our needs.

This was our 2nd yr staying at the Quay. (Same building but different unit last June) The beach was beautiful, the location was wonderful, but to be honest...our unit left a little to be desired. We pd a bit more this yr - and for less.... Our view wasn't as nice or as private (overlooked the public parking lot) and the unit was definitely more dated. The fixtures were older, as was the decor. The gate/latch on the deck were rickety and difficult to use. My kids found the bunk beds uncomfortable- opting to share the queen in the guest room instead. My husband had brought some DVDs along thinking he might watch some movies....but our unit only had...VHS players..? Don't get me wrong - the basics were there (and solid.). Great outdoor shower, working coffee pot, plenty of cooking utencils, and it was clean. I think we may have just been spoiled last yr staying in a unit with a recently updated (granite) kitchen, with newer furniture, nice outdoor seating area with a better view, more modern amenities (f
