OSK04: A Dolphin's Cove

Our family and our friend’s family spent a really enjoyable week at this location. The bedrooms and floor plans worked really well for the (4) adults and (6) young adults. The pool and hot tub were both very clean and worked great. The kids really enjoyed the pool table on the lower level. The family room seating area was fantastic for the entire group to watch sporting events. The dining room table was large enough to seat all 10 of us for lots of family dinners. The walk to the beach is only about 10 minutes by foot but longer if you stop to enjoy the turtles. We would certainly consider returning.!

My immediate first reaction was that this entire place was very subpar. It definitely had very cute beach vibes on the surface, but if you look deeper that feeling quickly fades away. The middle floor is cute but cramped. Although the colors of the couch and decor made me smile, the broken TV did not. If you ascend the stairs to the top floor you’ll see the most impressive part of the entire house. The top floor has cute decor, comfy couches, and a sort of unkept deck, and a cute little kitchen full of lovely supplies. I was pretty disappointed to see silly string stuck fast to the windows on the top floor. It really felt like the cleaning was rushed which is an issue considering we are in a pandemic. The bottom floor horrified me. It was a sad excuse for a “game room.” There is almost no room for the pool table they cramped down there and the master bedroom was very bland. The room with the two bunk beds will haunt my memories forever. It is the smallest room in the whole house and they really decided to cramp two bunk beds in it. My daughters saw MULTIPLE cockroaches around the floor, old food packaging was found in the dresser and under the bed, and a big dead spider was found behind the pillow on one of the bottom bunks. So other than the bad floor plan, multiple broken appliances (i.e. the tv, the radio, the remotes, etc.), and one bug infested room, the house was fine. :)

The house was fine, and the configuration and floor plan worked out well for us. The walk to the beach is pretty and especially great for dog walking, though we ended up driving to the beach accesses further up once a day in the evening so my husband, who is less able, could enjoy the beach as well. The pool and hot tub were well maintained.Small things I liked included the fact that you left salt and pepper shakers for our use. I haven't seen that in many beach houses. Also, it is nice that the light switches are labeled in rooms where it could be hard to tell which one controls which light/fan.Downsides: Parking was a bit of an issue. Many of the blinds had broken slats, which looks kind of sloppy. Many closets in the bedrooms had items (throw pillows, vacuums) that took up needed space. ....just small things.

We have a fantastic week in Corolla. The house had a nice floor plan for our group needs and was adequately furnished. The walk to the beach was a bit far for some of us, but we bought a beaching parking pass that made visits so easy and fun.
Suggestion: time to update the deck furniture.

The house was nice but could be made great with a few improvements. the outdoor furniture all needs to be replaced as the plastic is old and brittle and weak. The mattresses in the downstairs bedrooms are hard and not comfortable. We also encountered 2 roaches in the basement level.
on the plus side, the living room furniture was very nice and the amenities were plentiful. The walk to the beach was not far.

We had a great vacation but would probably choose a different rental next time.

Our family had a wonderful week in the Dolphins Cove. The house has everything you need and the maintenance crew is very responsive. We had 9 adults and two children- the kids loved the bunk bed room.

It's a good hike to the beach but the beach is perfect, it's a private beach for the section and a lifeguard stand is at section K.

Bikes help, the shopping is less than a mile up the road.

Great value, great time!

Our vacation with my 4 children and 8 grandchildren was fabulous, and a memory they will have for the rest of their lives. We loved the Dolphin's Cove, location and amenities couldn't have been better. Thank you Village Realty for helping make this a "bucket list" memory I have always wanted to fulfill.
