MB03: How Sweet The Sound

Our family of 5 enjoyed our stay at How Sweet The Sound! The inside of the house was impeccable (impressive since it's a pet-friendly rental!) and had so many kitchen extras that really helped us during our stay! Our only complaints regarding the interior was the pre-arrival prep seemed to fall a little short of our stay at a different house last year (no starter garbage bags, dish soap, dishwasher tabs) & the replaced air filters were left behind by the cleaning staff. I would agree with previous renters that the garage was (understandably) your typical garage in terms of cleanliness and therefore we didn't utilize the foosball table. Be sure to check the garage for pool/beach extras though! The beds, linens and living room furniture were comfy (plenty of blankets & pillows to go around) and the bathrooms were super clean! If pre-buying laundry detergent they do request you use high-efficiency detergent.This house has such great outdoor space - the (quiet!) front porch with rockers was nice to relax with coffee and a book. Mostly we loved the backyard and having a pool/hot tub for daily use! It's a large fenced-in space w. lots of seating that gets plenty of sun and shade for anyone's preference. Loved the covered deck for outdoor dining! We did submit a request mid-week to have the pool/hot tub looked at b/c they didn't seem to be filtering/cleaning as needed despite our daily skimming. Staff was quick to respond and seemed to resolve the pool issues, but the hot tub needed more attention. Some hot tub operation instructions might be useful to have at the house as well b/c the 'jets' and 'lights' buttons didn't seem to work consistently (temp was fine!). I see some previous reviews do mention the deck/patio/furniture cleanliness but seeing as how this property backs to woods it's reasonable to expect some debris. I can see how maybe a few power-washes and weeding might help keep the areas maintained throughout the summer but a little light cleaning of the area (wipe down furniture/hose leaves off of concrete) took no time at all.The services of Currituck Club cannot be overstated - the trolley and beach valet service alone is exceptional. The activities, additional pools and fitness/recreational facilities are such a nice bonus to your stay it would be hard to vacation anywhere else! The house is very nice as well as the pool and hot tub. Just a hop skip and jump to the beach with transportation provided if you dont want to drive across the street. Good location this is the second year we have been there for our family vacation and already booked for next year. Great for smaller groups that dont need 5-6 bedrooms but still plenty of space to sleep 10 comfortably. We usually only have 6 so its perfect

We had a great vacation staying in this rental. The neighborhood was quiet very well kept. Using the pool and hot tub every day was definitely a luxury.

We loved the location and size of the house. The neighborhood was lovely for walks with our dogs and the walk over to beach access was easy to follow. Loved having a private pool and hot tub; suggest more cleaning of overall deck area. Along those same lines, I peeked in the garage and didnt go near it! But we really didnt need to so thats ok. The kitchen, bathrooms, bedrooms were clean. Kitchen items supplied were more than adequate. Appreciated the ease of checking in/out and the hospitality app. We had a wonderful time!

Overall I was very pleased with the house. It was close to the beach and having the private pool and hot tub was great. The outside of the property needed some attention I did fill out a form and village realty did call me the outside furniture needed power washed there was s lot of mold on the outside of the house as well as spiders and spider webs. The garage was just gross and I would recommend you bring your own baby supplies I wouldnt use anything out of the garage. I was pleased with the house and would rent it again

Home was clean and had everything we needed. Village Realty went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and happy. House was well laid out and roomy enough. Wouldnt rent again however due to road noise. Would definitely use Village Realty in the future!!

Loved the neighborhood and location. Appreciate the baby items (gate, high chair came in handy). Both the outside and inside of the home were a bit dirty in our opinion. The pool area has overgrown weeds, plants etc and could use a good power washing. The inside of the home is nicely decorated and comfortable with what appears to be newer carpet, but again, felt very dirty. There are several large cob/spider webs on the ceilings and even in the master shower. There are spiders and spider webs behind the washer and dryer. Enjoyed our vacation, but for the price, expected a cleaner and more updated home.

An absolutely wonderful getaway. Good times and great memories. We stay with Village Realty every year and wouldn't have it any other way.
