September 2020 StayMelanie from Baltimore, MD
House was very nice. The kitchen could use some more good knives and baking dishes. Pool was ok. It needed cleaning. Appeared dirty. To our knowledge, nobody came to check the pool/chemicals. The biggest concern we had was me tripping on the molding from the kitchen to the small hall. I broke all three bones at my ankle, have been in hospital/ rehab for three months. I am still non weight bearing 11-17-2020. It has been a life altering experience. Village Realty sent someone over as I was going to the Nags Head Hospital. They said it met “code”. We did take pictures . I spoke to Village yesterday. I told them that all I want is for the owners to fix and lower the molding. I would hate for anyone else to have anything like this happen. I truly don’t think that is too much to ask!
Melanie, We are thankful you had trip insurance to cover this very unfortunate accident, we have been to the home and looked at the transition, while it is not flush with the floor, it is a standard transition from floor to carpet. We wish you the best and continued healing.
It's a keeperJon F from Arlington, VA
Well maintained, well stocked house with many thoughtful touches. The covered portion of the deck facing the beach made morning cups of coffee genuinely pleasant in the hot August sun. (And the beach views, which included being able to see the beach itself, newly replenished weeks earlier, were the best we've had in years.) The balconies facing the street were ample and provided unexpectedly great views of the sound and Manteo. The interior had been updated at some point and while it showed some wear and tear, nothing I wouldn't expect from a late-summer rental. The kitchen was a bit small but functional and well-stocked. Likewise the common area, but it served our purposes just fine. The rental company was responsive to our one problem (Internet wasn't working at first) and did what they said they'd do when they said they'd do it. I would rent this house again in a heartbeat.
House needs maintenanceJennifer H. from New Jersey
This house is need of a lot of maintenance and updating. There were many repairs needed and Village Realty was called for each. They responded with repairs to the best of their ability however the house did not meet my expectation. For the price I would look for something more updated.

This was a great house. It was clean and welcoming upon arrival. The kitchen was well stocked. The bedrooms comfortable. We enjoyed the pool area and the overhang was nice to see under when the sun was too intense. We are hoping the beach replenishment this year will help with the steep slope going down to the beach. Thank you for allowing pets.
Great LocationBrenda F. from Hampton, Virginia
The house met our family's needs. The porch area was especially nice overlooking the ocean. It was a great area to watch the full moon rising and watching the dolphins swim was a treat. Also, an we had an added bonus of being able to watch the beach replenishing in operation. The bedroom and bath situation was nice. The dryer wasn't drying when we first arrived but we realized it was a simple matter of removing excess lint on the outside vent. The upstairs sliding glass door had a lock missing. The downstairs sliding glass door was difficult to maneuver. The house is in a great location to groceries stores, outlets, restaurants, and of course the beach. A great spot to see a beautiful sunrise in the morning and set in the afternoon. We had a good view of the ocean and the sound. It is less than half a mile to Jeanette's Pier. There are no steps going directly down the dune to the ocean so it is an uphill struggle to get back up the dune to the walkway to the house. We had a great week all in all.
June 2019 VisitJane B. from Carlisle, PA
A nice house with a great location. Especially nice with the number of master bedrooms. Kitchen was well stocked. Just a few items that need some tlcthe dining room table, although it was a good piece of furniture, has been abused and really needs refinished before it is totally ruined. The door to the pool is very hard to open and close. All in all we had a great family week at the beach in a nice house.
Comfy HomeChristine T. from Herndon, Va
First pulling up to the house, you think, oh no, looks small. But once you step inside you go...oh yes! The house is very comfortable and this is the first time we have stayed in a rental home that all the beds had great comfy mattresses, which is a huge plus! Love the views from the balconies. Coffee in the morning watching the sunrise and dolphins play. In the evening sipping a glass watching the sunset! The kitchen is well stocked. We also enjoyed the pool and hot tub. Some of the towels provided need to be retired and not all sets were complete. The couple of issues we encountered were resolved almost immediately by Village Realty staff. (Dryer not working, door lock broken) The staff were very friendly and helpful. One downside was the house next door was being painted and some minor renovations were being done and it was very noisy. We had to move our cars away from the house because of the painting. The house is great for multiple families and we enjoyed our week!

Great set-up for our family reunion, totaling 10 people. Each family had their own level. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom. Great layout! Enjoyed the hot tub and the balconies on each level. Amazing views! Saw the ocean when I woke up every morning and went to sleep to the sound of ocean waves every night. Great location! Near Bodie Lighthouse, Manteo, Jockeys Ridge State Park, and Tanger Outlets. All within 10 to 15 minutes. Enough parking for 4 cars. Clean house when we arrived. However, it was a mess around the hot tub. Also, the entertainment system on the top level had to be jury-rigged to work. And the TVs on the bottom level were a little challenging to figure out. In addition, the flood lights near the TV and the ceiling fan did not work on the top level. My only suggestion would be to pay a little more attention to detail before each renter checks in (lights, electronics, etc.) With these changes, Hidden Treasure is a 5-star location.

The house is very nice and the location is perfect. The kitchen could use some big pots and misc. utensils. The large dining table needs attention, the finish is gummy. Some of the sliding doors are in need of repairs to operate properly. The clothes drier needs cleaning beyond the lint screen as this could be a fire hazard.
Lewis, thank you for your survey! We are so happy you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving at Hidden Treasure. We also appreciate you bringing these items to light. We will make the owners aware of the kitchenware and dining room table. Our property services team will be going out to look beyond the dryer into the duct and get it cleaned out. We look forward to hosting your next stay on The Outer Banks!

We just got back from a week at rental. The place was gorgeous and beyond our expectations.
I do agree with the other reviews regarding the bottom level. Pool stick chalk marks all over ceiling with names written in ceiling, pool light never worked, 2 outdoor patio bulbs out,, spa light out.
The patio door was not easy to close or lock. Previous reviews said same and issue fixed. The door needs to be replaced not fixed. The locking mechanism and track are rusted from salt water and time for a new door.
All in all we enjoyed our stay very much.. just little things that after reading multiple earlier reviews are still an issue and probably need resolution.
Also because it is a pet friendly home a gate next to the outdoor shower so pets cant get out the back patio area would be helpful. All in all very pleased. Just tlc needed.
August 2018 StayErik S. from Pottstown
We stayed in NH 22 located beach front in Nags Head. The overall value for the rental was reasonable for the price. The house was spacious and generally well kept. We spent many evenings enjoying drinks and playing pool or lounging in the hot tub. Some things that didn't go especially well were the the pool and the hot tub were never cleaned. The WiFi went out on our 3 night and never returned to full service and the house in general needed some TLC with lights being out and a few areas in general disrepair. When all was said and done we had a good relaxing vacation in OBX and look forward to many more.
Thank you Erik for sharing your experience. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your stay and had a relaxing vacation while here as our guest. Please know we appreciate your feedback, and our team will make sure the WiFi is functioning as it should, along with making sure to replace any bulbs as needed. I also wanted to mention that according to our records, your pool and hot tub were serviced the day before your arrival and on Wednesday as well. We look forward welcoming you and your family back for another great OBX vacation next year.
June 2018 StayGloria C. from Bellaire
This was a great house, the amount of bedrooms/bathrooms worked out so well for our family. Having a pool is awesome when you are traveling with younger children. Well stocked, the only tool we could not find were a pair of scissors. One suggestion would be a grill replacement, the one there was really rusty so we went and bought a George Foreman to use for the week. Overall a great experience for a family vacation, recommended for large families.
We are glad you enjoyed your stay at Hidden Treasure, Gloria! We will send a member of our team out to check on the grill and replace if needed. We do find the exteriors of the grill often rust in a matter of weeks even if brand new at the start of the season due to the exposure to the oceanfront elements; we will make sure the internal components and grates are in good shape though for future guests! We will look forward to seeing you for another Outer Banks vacation soon.
October 2016 StayAmy B. from Greensburg, IN
Although Hurricane Matthew interrupted our vacation plans, Viilage Realty was fantastic throughout the entire process. They kept us informed every step of the way until we were able to get into the home to salvage half of our trip. (Thank you Sarah for all the phone calls with updates). The home was so much better than the hotels we were stuck in. If I offered any area for improvement, it would be to re-stock the kitchen with more baking dishes, pots and pans, mixing bowls. Storage bowls, etc. it was difficult to cook for large groups with limited kitchen items. Nevertheless, we enjoyed our time there! Thank you!

Very nice house, over all the location is great close to a lot of dining and shops! The pool area needs some trimming! The kitchen needs a lot of supplies like bowls, crockpot, and baking dishes! The outside sitting decks need some tlc and chairs! But over all we had a great time here!
