DE03: Anchors Away

Everything about this home was outstanding! Watching the spectacular sunrises every morning from the upper deck was relaxing and invigorating; I cant think of a better way to start the day. The accommodations were amazing; everything from the unbelievably well equipped kitchen, to the comfortable bedrooms, to the easy beach access, to the cozy, homey decor. The house was immaculate, well equipped and well maintained. We truly enjoyed every aspect of our stay!

I loved this place! It had everything we needed and the floorplan worked very well. The decor was beautiful, subtly beachy but not over the top. We will definitely stay here again.

This was our second year at this house and we love it. House is beautiful, kitchen is well stocked and the views are amazing. The beach access going TO the beach was not a problem however getting back to the house proved more difficult. The steep pathway going back was very difficult for older members of our family to maneuver. If anything could be done to make that climb a little easier it would be greatly appreciated!

This is our third year at this home and it was really nice to see the updates. Good Job. The TV in the living room is a struggle every year we have been. It really shouldn't be that complicated. The bed in the blue masters suite (on the second floor) is truly the worse mattress I have ever slept it. Not sure why the cushion/padding is necessary but I needed to go home to get a good nites sleep. I love that Nags Head is doing everything they can to preserve the shore, and Village did a good job of letting us know about the Nourishment project. What I didn't love is that that access to the beach was limited for us. Due to the breadth of the construction project on the beach, we were unable to launch a kayak which we had rented. It was our understanding (from talking with the workers on the beach) that the work would only be in front of each home/site for 1 to 1 1/2 days. That was not the case for us - the project came to a halt for 3-4 days prior to our departure. It was truly disappointing.

House is very nice and has plenty of room to spread out. A few issues.....the TV in the main room is difficult to use. Better instructions are needed. Its not a simple turn it on and use the remote. It would reset every time it was turned off. .....so frustrating. Also, the bedroom on the main floor was supposed to be for handicap; however the en-suite bathroom did not have a bar in the shower and it was very difficult for my mother to use.

After a number of very pleasant years in this house the up grades were welcome. Seems that one has to be an engineer to use the television system. The master bath on the second level is not very handicap friendly. No safety grips and my wife would get blasted with cold water until it warmed up. Not the fault of Village but to charge 4th prices and not have assess to the beach for over 3 days is not a very nice way to treat guest.

We spent a wonderful week at Anchors Away with our family. The house is beautiful and big enough to accommodate the 8 of us with room to spare. The view from the deck of the beach and ocean is spectacular. It is so peaceful here. There is a lot to do in the area even in May. Dealing with the Village Realty folks was a pleasure. They were quick to respond to a minor maintenance, answer questions and provide information.

We love the house and the location. The elevator spoiled us and will now be a staple for this group. We really hope we can come back !

What a wonderful house ! The weather was perfect just about all week but the smart TVs bailed us out with Netflix. I couldnt imagine a more comfortable home with an awesome kitchen, x-large bedrooms and loved the soaking tubs ! And did I mention the Viking Range . Well be back !

This was our first time at this property. We booked it based on previous reviews( and availability of course). We were very happy with the house. Great location in an upscale community. Very accommodating for our group of 9. Plenty of rooms and baths. Every kitchen amenity you could want, upscale appliances. The home is not new and shows a bit of wear in places, but it seems the owner is very conscientious in making repairs and improvements. Youll like working with Village Realty. They follow through on everything they promise

This was our 8th year at this wonderful beach house. We meet every year here with our friends and this house provides such a warm and comfortable presence. The elevator and other built-in comforts have made it equally enjoyable for one of us that has some physical challenges. We also love the newly remodeled bathrooms, they are spectacular. We are already looking forward to next year !

We had a wonderful time. The house is beautiful and the location perfect! Thank you again for sharing it with us. We couldn't have asked for a nicer vacation.

lovely home,nice floorplan,been here a few times nice,however 3 of us tripped over warped boards on back decks,needs tlc on decks and gazebo

Great house. Super cozy and loved the open concept main living area.
Loved being able to cook our own meals in the large kitchen.
The grill on the range doesnt seem to be working properly. It smokes excessively and the right side burners click constantly while grill is running.
Beds could have been more comfortable. Would have been nice to have more dish towels.
Internet was extremely slow for someone needing to work remotely.
Had trouble using television/cable box. Seemed more complicated then necessary.
Otherwise really enjoyed the beautiful views and spacious living area.

This was our 12th year in this home. We love the top floor it gave us lots of space for cooking, family gathering,games and watching the ocean. We hope to be able to stay in this home for many years to come.

6th year at this wonderful home. Seems every year there are upgrades and new amenities. The layout is exceptional and perfect for large groups. And the views are worth the price alone. The Elevator makes it so easy for moving in and out as well as our Grandfather. Can't wait until next year ...

House was great! Nothing bad about it. Layout is good for extended families and elevator is great for elderly relatives. Kitchen is nice, well appointed, and the 48" Viking is awesome.

(The listed wifi is terrible, but there are a couple extension routers that work well.)

had a wonderful time. house nice and comfortable. could use some tlc like most beach rentals. views nice. elevator wonderful for parents who need assistance. loading and unloading easier. we submitted some minor maintenance issues at our departure for the rental company. a great week :-)
