What if The Outer Banks Restricts Visitor Access Again?

 
Village Realty wants you to be comfortable making your 2021 bookings now while there are the most options available to find the perfect rental for your group next year. We want to provide you our answer to one of the most frequently asked questions regarding booking this far in advance: What if the Outer Banks restricts access to visitors again?
 
While we do not anticipate another restriction to visitors, if the Outer Banks is closed to visitors due to a COVID-19 pandemic situation and travel insurance isn’t covering the closure, we will offer those guests (scheduled to arrive during an active closure) options so they do not lose out on their vacation investment. We know how much our guests love the Outer Banks, therefore we will do everything possible to facilitate rescheduling. While rescheduling is preferred, requests for refunds can also be accommodated for these circumstances. We would process those as quickly as possible, but it could take up to 90 days to process.
 

These options will only be offered if you cannot access the premises of your leased rental due to government-imposed restricted access into our area, the restrictions are imposed by the governing bodies in our area (Dare County/Currituck County), and the access issue is not determined to be a covered event by our travel insurance partner. We cannot offer these options in the case of travel restrictions/quarantine/recommendation orders issued by non-local Outer Banks governments. In addition, we cannot offer the options for other Outer Banks travel disruptions/restrictions that would typically be insurable events such as hurricane evacuations, etc. as optional travel insurance is offered to all of our guests. In the event of another closure, we would contact guests as soon as we have clarity on their ability to arrive relative to the reservation dates, minimally one week before arrival, to present these options/updates, depending on the duration and extent of any governmental closure order.

What Should I Bring With Me?

As you plan packing for your trip, please plan any cleaning supplies needed for your stay. The local grocery stores are prepared for visitors, but to be safe, it would be best to pack as much as possible. This will also allow for less time spent in the stores while continuing to exercise social distancing.

Are Your Offices Open?

Our offices will be open every day from 9 am until 5 pm. In an effort to keep the Village Realty Team Members, Guests, and Owners as safe as possible, we are requesting limited visits to our offices and by appointment only. This is the best way to continue practicing social distancing in an effort to flatten the curve. Please contact us via phone, email, or the app for the needs you have while visiting.

Will There Be Assistance if Needed During My Stay?

We do have service technicians available for issues that are urgent and need repair quickly. Under current circumstances, we are asking that any items that CAN wait until turnover are handled at that time, rather than having a face to face interaction. Our teams are equipped with gloves and masks for the "must come now" situations, but we appreciate everyone understanding the importance of maintaining social distancing as much as possible.

What Time is Check-in?

Check-in time is 4 pm unless you previously arranged for priority access of 1 pm prior to April 1st. If you plan to arrive later than 4 pm, please contact our office so we can allocate cleaners appropriately to serve our other guests.

Can I Check-In Early?

We always want to get everyone in the property sooner rather than later. However, while we are making every effort to ensure everyone's safety, we will need as much time as possible between 10 am check out and 4 pm check in to clean the properties properly. Unless priority access was purchased prior to April 1st, we will be ready for your arrival by 4 pm. IF the home is ready prior to 4 pm, you will receive a text message alerting you of this. If you have NOT heard from us by 4 pm, your door code will be active at this time and you may check-in remotely (or come to our office and pick up keys if applicable). We are experiencing very high call volume this season and appreciate everyone understanding this and relying on you to follow these processes to know when to arrive at your property. If you plan to arrive later than 4 pm, please contact our office so we can allocate cleaners appropriately to serve our other guests.

How Are You Cleaning and Disinfecting Homes?

Our housekeeping teams will be spending extra time in the houses during the changeover to ensure a solid disinfecting is being done between each guest. The products being used are peroxide-based and approved by the EPA & CDC for killing all kill viruses and bacteria. Our teams are taking special effort to hit all high touch points during each turnover clean to ensure safety for you, our owners, and our team members. Our pool and spa technicians are servicing these amenities during the changeover, as well as mid-week. If your spa is only accessible through the house, we will be reaching out to you to schedule a time to have this amenity serviced mid-week. SPAS: it is of utmost importance that you leave the chlorinator/floater in the spa at all times. This helps keep the chemical levels in check and is for your safety.
