Located on the northern end of Roanoke Island, Manteo is a charming community that is full of fun and rich in history. Dating back to the late 1500’s, Manteo and Roanoke Island were where the original colonists called home (just north of town is the Fort Raleigh National Historic Site). In the center of Manteo you’ll find the old iconic Dare County Courthouse, a vast waterfront harbor, and dozens of quaint shops and eateries mixed in-between.
