Village Realty Raises $13k+ for Woman’s Club Angel

Village Realty Raises $13k+ for Woman’s Club Angel

Now in its 32nd year, The Angel Gift Fund, a partnership between The Outer Banks Woman’s Club and Dare County Department of Health and Human Resources, aims to assist families and children in having their needs met and wishes fulfilled during this holiday season. Since 2010, Village Realty has matched every dollar that its employees raise each year, donating the sum to this worthy community charity.

On December 9, Village Realty property manager Emily Lewis presented the company’s 2019 donation and followed up with an email to Village Realty employees, stating “We have wrapped up another fantastic season of fundraising for Dare County families in need. Special thanks to everyone who worked so hard to help our community and to Village Realty for matching our funds. As a result of your efforts and Village Realty’s match, we will be donating $13,577 to the Angel Gift Fund!”

In addition to the collection of $1 per day from each employee who wished to wear jeans to work, not normally a part of the professional dress code, each department decided on their own creative method of raising money for the Angel Gift Fund. Held throughout the year, the individual fundraising efforts included an online wreath sale and custom OBX t-shirt blankets raffle, conducted by the rental department, while the housekeeping department sold Krispy Kreme donuts to raise money for the cause. The maintenance, association management, and marketing departments put on Breakfast with Santa at Pamlico Jack’s. The accounting and real estate sales departments contributed by holding a soup, chili and chowder cook-off and bake sale. The fundraisers were so successful that they more than doubled what was raised in its first year in 2010.
