Tequila Mockingbird is a beautifully furnished, semi-oceanfront home in South Nags Head conveniently located just a two-minute walk from the beach. A variety of amenities will keep the entire family entertained throughout your stay, including a private pool, hot tub and rec room. Tequila Mockingbird backs up to the Cape Hatteras National Seashore, providing ultimate seclusion and incredible views for your next Outer Banks vacation.

When you arrive, use the dumbwaiter to send groceries and luggage to the upper levels with ease. After a day of fun in the sun, come home and relax in the comfortably furnished great room with gas fireplace and wet bar. This open-concept space is ideal for gathering and opens up onto an expansive covered deck with an ocean view. At dinnertime, there's plenty of room for everyone to help with meal prep in the spacious kitchen with stainless steel appliances, including a double oven. At the end of the night, retreat to the primary king suite that features a private sun deck overlooking the nature preserve - the perfect place for watching the magnificent sunsets. Pamper yourself in the ensuite bath that includes a dry sauna for a spa-like experience.

With over 3,800 square feet of indoor living space, Tequila Mockingbird can easily accommodate multiple or extended families. Five more bedrooms (including a second king ensuite) are located on the mid-level, most of which provide deck access for enjoying the salt air and ocean breezes. Downstairs, you'll find a third king ensuite plus a large rec space that's sure to be everyone's favorite room of the house. Shoot pool on the billiard table or simply kick back and watch a movie or the big game. A kitchenette is perfect for making drinks and snacks without having to go upstairs. Enjoy them poolside or on the screened porch with picnic tables. The rec room leads directly to the backyard with a sparkling private pool and a bubbly hot tub for soaking away the day. The pool can be heated certain times of the year, ideal for off-season getaways.

Located at Milepost 20 where the beaches are wide and uncrowded, Tequila Mockingbird offers the tranquility of the all-residential South Nags Head area while still being close to grocery stores, shopping and dining. Take a short drive or bike ride north to the Outer Banks Fishing Pier and Fish Head's Bar and Grill, where you can order food and drinks on the oceanfront while listening to live music. You'll be just 2.5 miles from Coquina Beach and the 4x4 beaches, part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and a favorite local spot for fishing and surfing. From there, explore Bodie Island Lighthouse or head south for a day trip to Ocracoke.

Great location! Plenty of parking. The coffee maker didn't work - but kuerig worked great. Bring chairs and dish towels - none at the house. Plenty of trash cans which is great! Great access to the beach.

Tequila Mockingbird provided us with a most enjoyable vacation! Where do I start? Walk up seven steps to a large screened-in porch with benches and a large picnic table...plenty of room to store anything that doesn't go inside. Enter the first floor - one Firm King bed with shower bath. Two normal size windows with blinds. FYI - to raise blinds - lift from the bottom of the blind. To lower, pull gently from the bottom. Entertainment area - Large Flat Screen TV with laminated instructions and TV channel list "THANK YOU!". Full size "pillowy" sofa and a love seat, which were very soft and comfy and serves their purpose, as this IS the hang out room when you want to enjoy family and friends for a game of pool or play arcade video games. This is where my hubby spent a lot of his time playing golf on the arcade. Enjoy coffee or drinks while relaxing on the covered porch with plenty of seating overlooking the pool and hot tub. (No neighbors peeking at you...very private area.) Pool has plenty of warm sun between Noon-6pm and the solar heat is a bonus during the evening when the outside temp is cooler....not like bath water, but you get use to it, once you are in. Outside temps for us were low to high 70s week of 9/22-9/2Amenities: Full-size fridge with ice maker, dishwasher, microwave, Keurig and regular coffee makers, soft serve ice cream maker (a plus), nice blender, dishes etc... Temperate was pretty cool on this first floor. Fan in the King Bedroom, should you need it. Up to the 2nd Floor - All beds were comfy and showers were hot - 2 Queens Bed rooms with window and sliding doors facing pool area, so you will not get the bright morning sun, but it gets a little warmer in these rooms with the evening sun - large partly covered deck with rocking outdoor chairs with cushions. Small Bathroom with tub by itself. Very nice - Bunk room (themed for boys) with one window and blinds and two twins with window with blinds and slider with curtains in another room (themed for girls), shared bath with tub and a very large two sink vanity - lots of lighting.
