This newly updated oceanfront home in South Nags Head features a private walkway that makes getting to and from the beach easy and convenient.

The reverse floor plan at Shell Cottage takes full advantage of the panoramic ocean views, which can be enjoyed from every room on the top level. Stylish and beach-friendly LVT flooring is installed throughout, and the open-concept layout allows everyone to spend quality time together even while preparing meals in the kitchen. Dine al fresco on the screened porch while watching the sun go down. After dinner, mix cocktails at the wet bar to serve on the oceanfront deck. Take the stairs down to the mid-level and use the private walkway to the beach for an evening stroll by the shore break.

All four bedrooms are conveniently located on the mid-level, and the two master suites provide direct access to a covered oceanfront deck. Rinse off in the enclosed outdoor shower on your way back from the beach and use the dry entry from the ground level, where you can drop off your towels and swimsuits in the laundry area.

Located at milepost 19.5 in South Nags Head, Shell Cottage is a mile south of the Outer Banks Fishing Pier and Fish Head's Bar and Grill, where you can order food and drinks on the oceanfront while listening to live music. Coquina Beach, part of the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and a favorite local spot for fishing and surfing, is a six-minute drive away. From there, explore Bodie Island Lighthouse or head south for a day trip to Ocracoke.

Perfecty appointed kitchen and properly cleaned unit upon arrival. One note, and this comes from renting units of various sizes over the last 5 years; the TV remote was simple to use. We have had instances where the remote(s) instructions were 3-pages, printed on two sides and laminated (Yikes). Nice single remote using the cable provider app. Frustration-free visit on all accounts

Great house. Nice location. The mattress in the master bedroom sags in the middle and needs to be replaced, but it was a wonderful vacation.

House was great and we had an amazing time. Kitchen well stocked and to be able to have the beach out your door was a treat. Only complaint was floors in living room had some cereal and dirt in the floor and windows facing the ocean were very dirty.

Perfect for what we needed

This was a very nice place and had everything we were looking for with a 3 year old. Right on the beach so we didn’t have to go far, space inside for our toddler to play with his toys. I think he loved the bunk beds the best! The kitchen was well stocked with the dishes and things we needed and some. The only thing that I would recommend would be a house number sign out front at the driveway. The place was amazing and we are already talking about when we go back.

Nice house. Great location.

The house was wonderful, and in a great location. I love south Nags Head. All residential. No commercial establishments. Nice and quiet. The house is in good shape. Just a couple of suggestions. Some of the locks are defective. If you are using one of the shared toilets, hang something on the doorknob to indicate that it is in use. Also, a Keurig coffee maker would have been nice, so that guests would not have to mess with coffee filters and measuring ground coffee.

We just got back home after a wonderful week at Surfrider. I can’t believe there are no reviews for this house. It was clean, wonderfully furnished and spacious. I spent the week with my 4 children and 2 of their boyfriends. We were able to be together, yet spread out. The views were amazing. I love how the owners have protected the dunes. One piece of advice, you will need to be able to make it up and down 2 dunes which are not shown. Until next year, OBX!!!
