Welcome to Cottage on the Hill, your cozy hideaway perched in a peaceful maritime forest near the Roanoke Sound! This charming retreat is all about privacy, comfort, and that perfect coastal vibe. Tucked away among the trees, it feels like your own secret escape, yet you’re just a short stroll from the sound where sunsets paint the sky in dazzling colors.
Step inside and let the relaxation begin. The first floor welcomes you with warm wood floors, a comfy living and dining area, and a fully equipped kitchen featuring stainless steel appliances and everything you need to whip up your favorite meals. The bedroom is a dream with a queen bed and a shared full bath, plus a there is washer and dryer near by for your convenience.
Head upstairs and you’ll find two more inviting bedrooms connected by a jack-and-jill bathroom. One room offers a queen bed for sweet slumber, while the other has two twin beds perfect for kids or friends. Every space is designed to make you feel right at home while still giving you that “vacation mode” feeling.
Outside, nature surrounds you. Sip your morning coffee on the porch, listen to the birds, and breathe in the salty air.
When adventure calls, you’re close to everything, shops, restaurants, the Roanoke Island attractions, and even kayaking spots for those who love to explore.

Great stay. Very private. Beautiful setting. Private beach access was wonderful. Access way to the house is unpaved and needs a higher clearance than a sedan or minivan. Lovely house. We had to clean the deck and the baby spiders in one kids bedroom.
We couldn’t figure out the main bedroom shower, the response from the landlord was quick and Pam left very nice note explaining how everything works. Very responsive.
About 32 Stairs to come up to the house and they can be slippery when wet if you’re not careful.
We had a great time having early morning coffee on the deck, the dog had a great time exploring the grounds. Friendly neighbors on the way to the beach. Easy drive to town center, can bike or walk as well. Easy drive to all attractions OBX has to offer. It rained a couple of days, those days felt like we were up in the rainforest. It was beautiful.
