Barefoot Joy is the perfect choice for guests who want to spend their vacation surfing, fishing or simply enjoying the beautiful sights of the sparkling Atlantic. After a day of fun in the sun, head back to the house and get happy hour started in your very own backyard oasis. This fabulous outdoor space includes a tiki bar, grilling area with picnic table and covered sitting area. Climb the stairs to the observation deck where you can lounge in the sun while enjoying an ocean view. Inside, you'll find three bedrooms including a king ensuite, and an open-concept living/dining area with a well-stocked kitchen for preparing meals at the house. Start your day with a delicious latte using the Nespresso machine, and wind down for happy hour at the bar in the den. Pets are welcome, so bring your four-legged friends along for the beach vacation of a lifetime.

Barefoot Joy is situated at Milepost 7, truly the heart of Kill Devil Hills. This central and sought-after location allows guests to get anywhere on the Outer Banks, from Southern Shores to Roanoke Island, in a matter of minutes. A movie theater, mini golf, grocery stores and a variety of shopping and dining options are located within a mile radius. Nearby restaurants and nightlife include Awful Arthur's Oyster and the Stonefish Bar at Avalon Pier, both within walking distance from the house.

Pets allowed. No smoking/vaping. Ask about our Military Discount. CANCELATIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED TO Village Realty in writing. In case of cancelation, all monies will be refunded less a $150 cancelation fee if you cancel 31 or more days prior to arrival. If you cancel 15-30 days prior to arrival, you will receive a 50% refund. Any cancelations within 14 days of arrival will not be subject to a refund.

The house was Beachy cute with cottage feel. Had everything we needed. The outside are was great for grilling with good shade. Parking was ample for 3 cars. My only ask to make us return would be to update the mattresses, not very comfortable in bed 2 & 3. Overall we had a great stay! Thank you

Barefoot Joy was great! We loved the vintage vibes and fun decor. It was older, but charming and comfortable. The beds were comfortable and the outdoor area was really cute. The shaded hammock was amazing. The house was just a couple of blocks from the beach and Awful Arthur’s. The kitchen had everything it needs—we loved the pink retro microwave and Keurig. No dishwasher, but we didn’t miss it. The house had a well-deserved high rating. We would totally stay there again.

We had a great stay at Barefoot Joy and will be staying here again! The house was very clean and and organized. Loved the single level living and the outdoor space. The short walk to the beach and pier is a huge plus!

Our recent stay at Barefoot Joy was excellent. No issues. We purposely rented a cottage without stairs/steps. Everything worked fine. Enjoyed the backyard area for morning coffee and afternoon reading. WE hope to stay there again in the future. Barefoot Joy got us back in the neighborhood where we had owned a beach cottage on East Avalon, right around the corner, so we were able to say Hi to former neighbors. Short, easy walk to Awful Arthur's for carryout.
