Historic and modern is what Pookie's Cottage is all about. This historic home was built in 1914 on the oceanfront in Nags Head and was relocated oceanside. Imagine the stories you could hear if the original pine floors, beams and shake siding could talk. Grab your sweet tea or mint julep and relax on the covered porches, taking in the salty breeze and ocean sounds. An enclosed yard will be just the place for your furry friends to run and play so bring them on vacation too!

The beautiful Nags Head beaches are within walking distance where you can bask in the sun, gather some shells or sea glass, swim or surf and after your adventurous beach day relax in your own private hot tub.

Pookie's Cottage also offers access to the local YMCA that is less than a mile away. You will have access to a seasonal outdoor pool, indoor pool, hot tub, sauna, locker rooms, fitness center and much more!

This is such a beautiful cottage with all the charm, amazing location! Loved the historic cozy feel inside, the backyard, the spaciousness between 3 levels for a cozy cottage. Love the decor! It’s so close to the beach and great places to eat. Walked to the fireworks on July 4th, it was incredible. Would absolutely love to stay here again!
I recommend bring your own bath/beach towels. They provide bath but they’re poor quality (over-bleached to the point of splitting, too tiny for small to average size adults, very rough - we ended up buying some for adults while there). I was also happy we brought our own blanket for our bed (the master room) because the comforter provided was too small to fit the bed and very very light weight. We had to request blankets for the kids bunks because those provided were a crib blanket and a blanket that didn’t cover half of the bottom bed. There was dog fur everywhere (floor, couches, tables) but they immediately sent cleaners again.

Quirky house but the young maintenance man was super. Very friendly & courteous. On the job almost before we could get the request in the 2 times we needed help at pookies cottage last week 6/24 - 7/1. Please tell him thanks again.

We love this home! It is so cozy and has everything needed for a perfect OBX stay. The owners have done a beautiful job blending vintage beach cottage w modern amenities. There is ample outdoor and deck space and room to spread out in the 2 living rooms. Blending our families for this trip is easier bc of the space provided and tranquil atmosphere.
