Best of all, Mermaid Shade is just a 0.5-mile, easy walk to the Duck Boardwalk, where you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets over the Currituck Sound, browse unique local boutiques, and dine at some of Duck's favorite restaurants. The ground level also features a recreation room with a flat-screen TV, beverage fridge, queen sleeper sofa, and foosball table, providing even more space for indoor fun. Just outside in the carport, you'll find the outdoor ping-pong table!

The middle level features four comfortable bedrooms: one king bedroom that shares a bathroom with a bedroom offering two twin beds, and one queen bedroom that shares a bathroom with a second queen bedroom and a bunk room. All four bedrooms provide direct access to the deck, where you'll find a relaxing hot tub, perfect for unwinding after a day at the beach. A conveniently located laundry room with a washer, dryer, and utility sink adds extra convenience during your stay.

Upstairs, the fully equipped kitchen opens to a spacious great room with a flat-screen TV and wood-burning fireplace, creating the perfect gathering space for family and friends. The dining table seats ten, with additional seating for four at the breakfast bar. Just beyond, a bright sitting area leads to an expansive deck featuring a picnic table and lounge chairs, ideal for outdoor dining or relaxing in the coastal breeze. The upper-level king suite includes a private ensuite bathroom with a soaking tub, offering a peaceful retreat to end each day at Mermaid Shade.

We had an amazing vacation at mermaid shade. The The renovations in the kitchen and bathrooms were absolutely amazing! Everything was very well appointed and stocked. . It is such a short walk to the beach. It’s like the beach is in your backyard! There was plenty of room for parking for our family and of course we enjoyed the wine fridge. It’s also a great location for quick walks down to the duck boardwalk and to enjoy the beautiful sound sunsets. The hot tub is fantastic after a long day at the beach, and of course, watching the stars from the wraparound deck.can’t wait to stay here again!!!!

We spent two weeks at mermaid shade, and it was a fantastic vacation. The house is so close to the beach we could easily take a quick stroll and enjoy our coffee, looking at the waves and a glass of wine in the early evenings. The kitchen and bathrooms were recently renovated with amazing attention to detail. There was plenty of parking, beach chairs and a great gas grill. We often took a quick walk to Wee Winks and the fish market to bring back fresh fish and produce for a lovely meal. We can’t wait to return next year!!
