Capital City Four Wheelers Surf Fishing Tournament

Held annually on the third full weekend of October, this 24-hour saltwater tournament brings anglers and four-wheel-drive enthusiasts to Hatteras Island for friendly competition along the Cape Hatteras National Seashore.
Participants fish the surf for a variety of popular coastal species, including red drum, bluefish, trout, flounder, sea mullet, croaker, and spot. With prizes awarded across multiple fish categories—as well as a youth prize for young anglers—it is an exciting event for seasoned fishermen and families alike.
Beyond the catch, the tournament celebrates the camaraderie, beach access, and outdoor traditions that make the Outer Banks a favorite destination for fishing enthusiasts.
