Captain’s Quarters overlooks the Roanoke Sound with a spectacular sunrise view of the Washington Baum Bridge and south Nags Head. This luxurious condo, nestled in the world-class gated marina resort of Pirate’s Cove (the “Venice of the Outer Banks” as the owners like to call it), has it all. Wake up to the sun rising over the sound and watch the day unfold as boats, and even frequent dolphin pods, glide right past the building. Discover some of the best sunset viewing spots on the sound - just steps from the front door. The resort fee is covered with your reservation at no extra cost and provides free access to an exciting array of resort amenities rarely found in OBX’s beach communities.

Captain’s Quarters is owned by the family of a retired USCG Captain who served at Oregon Inlet and Cape Hatteras early in his career and is maintained to the high standard deserving of this special place. The unit is remodeled with all the upgrades – with an elevator less than 10 steps from the front door that makes unloading a breeze. Short (3-day min.) and longer stays welcome.

The condo features a primary bedroom overlooking the sound with a queen bed, ensuite bath, private porch access, a full-size desk, and a 43” TV (check the closet for sports equipment!). The second bedroom has a queen bed, 43” TV, and direct access to the second bath. The family room features a sleeper sofa, 50” TV, and a book and game collection.

A 5-minute drive takes you to two free public beach accesses - including Nags Head’s Jennette’s Pier with its 1,000-foot fishing pier, wide sandy beaches, ample parking, and new public bath house. The Cape Hatteras National Seashore (don’t miss the lighthouse!), Pea Island, Coquina Beach, and Oregon Inlet are just a few nearby beachy destinations.

Bring your boat (designated 25’ boat slip included - can accommodate boats up to 21' long), kayak, or jet ski; fish and crab from the docks; book a fishing charter or sunset cruise from the on-site marina; and join in on the fun of watching Gulf Stream fishing charters unload their daily catches. Stroll miles of boardwalk along the canals and enjoy the wildlife. Relax at the community pool complex with its sparkling pool, baby pool, hot tub, snack bar, and clubhouse with pool table and game room. Let the day slip away as you watch the boats sail by right from your deck and from along the many canals that wind through the resort. Walk to the marina restaurant (one of the best on the beach and open year-round) or catch live music and a drink at Mimi’s Tiki Bar – or simply enjoy a book, a cup of coffee, or a happy hour drink on the covered front and back porches. There’s so much to do without even leaving the resort!

Several great golf courses are also nearby.

Can’t stay an entire week? Captain's Quarters is available for short stays with flexible arrival / departure options - perfect for a long weekend or last-minute getaway. Choose any day of the week for check-in and check-out.

PLEASE NOTE that while this is not a pet-friendly unit, it is not pet free (owners occasionally bring a dog). No smoking/vaping. Fireplace not available for guest use. 6 guest max., 2 vehicle max. Boat slip #68 (can accommodate boats up to 21' long) available for use. Boats and travel trailers must be stored off site (Contact Hanbury's Storage in Manteo).
