Sometimes you just walk into a house and know that "this is the one". This full time home has the most comfortable feeling and you can tell that it has been nicely updated and cared for. The recent kitchen remodel features quartz counter tops, stainless appliances, and updated tile floors that resemble hardwoods, which are also found in the family room, laundry, and garage entry area. The front foyer and living room have hardwood floors.
You can enjoy a wood burning fire in the living room fireplace or heat the home by the wood stove in the family room. There is a full bath off of the family room and an outdoor shower addition outside. The top floor features three nice sized bedrooms and another full bath. Two of the bedrooms and hall have heart pine floors and one has updated carpeting.
A heated and cooled craft room/workshop has been constructed within the garage space, leaving ample storage room in the garage area. You also get a detached storage shed and pull down attic which are real perks on Hatteras where many homes were built for weekly use and have little storage. The house appears to be wired for a whole house generator though there is not one there currently. The front porch has been screened and is a wonderful and quite place to read.
The rear deck and some ground level decking has been added. The HVAC system has been updated with one new system in the past couple of years, a new air handler on the second system, and newly insulated duct work. Replacement windows and new doors eliminate concerns you may have with an older home. Enjoy the grassy lawn and keep it beautiful with the sprinkler system and make housework a little easier with the central vacuum system.
Those of you who would love to live on Hatteras one day should really make it a point to see this house! The locals know that a home with few stairs is so much more practical than hauling groceries up three flights everyday. Come and take a peek for yourself soon.
