Carol Trotman's Art Gallery

Carot Trotman's work is on the display at the Island Art Gallery in Manteo and at the Dare County Arts Council, also in Manteo, NC.

Watercolor became Trotman’s choice of medium because of “its characteristics of fluidity, transparency and versatility….it’s challenging, stimulating and FUN!”

Her subjects include, but are not limited to, ocean and soundside views, birds, boats, buildings, animals, flowers and people (with varying formats). She has added portraiture to her spectrum as well.

She created eight paintings from her Provence, France trip ;  the originals and Giclee prints are available.

In fall 2005, she traveled to Southern Italy where the beauty of age-worn Italy inspired her to create her Italy collection.

Carol grew up in Iowa and Alaska, eventually marrying and moving to Virginia where she began her family and continued her college studies at Old Dominion University. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and subsequently taught art for twenty years in the Virginia public school system. Shortly thereafter she and her husband retired to the Outer Banks of North Carolina, where they now reside.

Carol was awarded signature status with the Watercolor Society of North Carolina in 2006. A member of several state watercolor societies and art councils, she has also had several one-person and group shows in Virginia and North Carolina. She began painting in 1964 and has accumulated an impressive array of awards from numerous juried shows. Her works are in public, corporate and private collections in North America.

Her paintings can be seen on her website and in her studio in Kitty Hawk, NC.  Visit her Facebook page. She teaches class from her home. You may emal Carol at ctrotmanobx@gamil.com or call her at 252.261.3590.
