Kitty Hawk Pier

Coming to the Outer Bank over the Wright Memorial Bridge, your first glimpse of the beach used to be straight ahead by the Kitty Hawk Pier. Built in 1953, the pier was famous for it’s wonderful restaurant, serving down home local food, and of course the fishing!

When Hurricane Isabel came through the Outer Banks in 2003, she all but demolished the Kitty Hawk Pier and badly damaged the pier house. The nearby Hilton Garden Inn bought the pier in 2006, and beautifully restored the 2,200 sq. ft. pier house and what remained of the pier. The pier itself is now open to the public for fishing, while the pier house is available through the Hilton Garden Inn for weddings, parties and corporate events.

There is no website for the pier, so just find your way to the Hilton and park on the north side of the building. Rumor has it daily passes are $5, and the office is open from 8am to 8pm.
