Cafe Franco's in Kill Devil Hills

I had heard good things about Cafe Franco's for a while but honestly, I don't eat out a lot in the summer.  However, my oldest daughter and her husband took me there last night. Wow. It was outstanding. Everything. Nice atmosphere. Not pretentious, comfortable and the servers are attentive.  My daughter ordered a nice bottle of wine, and we got the zucchini appetizer. zucchine frette with boom boom sauce. Good. Salad was also good, nothing special but the Italian dressing was just right and the lettuce was crisp...exactly what I wanted to complement my meal...cheese ravioli!  Big fat, cheesy, delicious and covered with a marinara sauce. Enough that I brought home two big raviolis.

Daughter got same thing and son in law got the baked ziti with a tomato cream sauce. His dish was empty when I looked up.

Cafe Franco's is right around the corner from my house so this is going to be a new favorite place this fall and winter. The prices are fair. They also serve pizza and I definitely want to try that during a future visit. Desserts sounded great but we were too full.

We  have so many excellent restaurants on the Outer Banks, there are only a few that I would not recommend and we will not get into that here.  This is a great choice for a couple, looked and seemed family friendly and they were serving a large table while we were there.  As always, when you are coming in with more than eight people it is always a good idea to call ahead and let them know.

So, highly recommend. You will find this little gem in the Belk Shopping Center in Kill Devil Hills, around Milepost 7. Exact address for your GPSers is 1712 Croatan Highway, Kill Devil Hills, NC 27948. Phone # is (252) 255-2232 and you may want to check out their Facebook page too.

Oh, and when I came into work and mentioned to some co-workers that I had been to Cafe Franco's they told me that the owners are homeowners in our rental program. They own a home in Nags Head, we manage it. Small beach. I knew they were smart.

And now I am hungry.

Until Next Time,
