Durwood Cooper, Jr. is the Broker-in-Charge of Village Realty's Columbia, NC, office. He is a native of Tyrrell County, and was previously involved in his family's farm operation. He has had his real estate broker's license since 1988; a time when he lived on the Outer Banks and worked in real estate sales. He has owned and operated a retail business which was located on Main Street in Columbia, and has had a great interest in the revitalization of Columbia. Durwood believes in community support and service; he was a past Tyrrell County Commissioner and Tyrrell County Planning Board member, the 2006 president of the Greater Tyrrell County Chamber of Commerce, is a supporter of local Community Development and 4-H activities, is currently a Director for the Friends of Oakwood Cemetery, and serves on the George Dawkins Scholarship committee. He is also involved, as a partner, in the development of land recently annexed into the Town of Columbia.

Laura Spencer started her real estate career with Village Realty in 1987 in the Guest Operations/Housekeeping Department. She acquired her North Carolina Real Estate Broker's license in 2005, and started working part-time in sales in the Columbia, NC office in early 2006.

Being a native and resident of Columbia/Tyrrell County, Laura thought this would be a great opportunity to assist sellers and buyers interested in being fellow residents of such a wonderful place to live and raise a family.
