Southern Shores Vacation Rentals

The town of Southern Shores stretches from the Atlantic Ocean to the Currituck Sound and is home to many Outer Banks locals who enjoy the gentle climate and excellent location year ‘round.

Some things you need to know:

  • Beaches are not crowded no matter what time of year
  • Dogs are allowed on the beach before 9 a.m. and after 6 p.m. from May 15 through September 15. The animals must be on leashes no longer than
    10 feet and owners are responsible for picking up after the dogs.
  • There is a bike path throughout some of Southern Shores.
  • The next town to the north is Duck, NC where you will find unique shops
    and restaurants. Try The Blue Point, Red Sky and Roadside Grill.
  • Recycling pick up is available town wide
  • Beaches have lifeguards during the summer months;
    May 1 through October 15
  • Great shopping nearby including two grocery stores that are open
    all year; Food Lion and Harris Teeter. For take out and gourmet foods
    we recommend Coastal Provisions in Southern Shores Crossing.
