This festival features local artists showcasing a variety of media and gifts. Music, local food concessions, activities for the children and an art auction. Free admission but a $5 parking donation is requested.

Outer Banks Pirate Festival
Aarrgghhhh… matey…Join us for four days of Pirate Fun. September 19 is National Talk Like a Pirate Day. Authentic pirates will be on the OBX, pillaging local restaurants (Kelly’s, Pamlico Jack’s, Big Al’s, Jolly Roger, Outer Banks Brewing Station, Mako Mikes and more) and can also be seen at Kitty Hawk Kites Stores. Musical entertainment throughout the day. Blessing of the Fleet begins at 5:30 pm. Commercial and charter fishing fleets will be displaying boats, skills, gear and products in several competitions and demonstrations. Games for the kids and fresh local seafood; featured in a chowder cook-off and cooking demonstrations. Hatteras Village: 10 am to 5 pm.

Outer Banks Triathlon
Three events are featured: Half Distance, Olympic Distance and Sprint Distance. All three courses are on Roanoke Island. The biking and racing will follow smooth, flat roads and trails. Trick or Treat Under the Sea
Take the kids to the NC Aquarium on Roanoke Island where ghosts and strange aquatic creatures will greet them. Count Sharkula hosts the event and there are crazy costume contests, creepy crafts and delicious munchies. Tickets are limited. Ticket sales begin October 1 and will be sold at the Aquarium.
