The Outer Banks Maratahon is an annual event on the Outer Banks of North Carolina and enjoys excellent support from the community.

The race takes place mid November and winds through the natural beauty that is the Outer Banks. Locals will be cheering runners on from the starting point to the finish line and the participants will hear music, encouragement and support. Please visit www.obxmarathon.org for entry fees, starting times and additional information.

The Outer Banks Half Marathon is held on the same day and begins in Nags Head, near Jockey's Ridge.

The OBX Marathon
The Outer Banks 8K starts in Kill Devil Hills at First Flight High School track and continues through the Nags Head Woods Maritime Forest. Walker friendly course.


Want to satisy your inner Pirate? Take the Blackbeard Challenge or the Pamlico Jack Challenge. Each finisher will get a commemorative pin...arrrgh..to recognize your feat.

The OBX Marathon

The Bucanner 5K is an out and back course and begins at First Flight High School track. Walker friendly.



The Outer Banks Fun Run is for kids and kids at heart. It is a one mile race and everyone who is pre-registered will receive a t-shirt and a finishers medal. For more information on this event please click HERE
