2010 Community Pool Dates for Pirate's Cove: Open Memorial Day through Labor Day, weather permitting.

If you are a sailor or just want to be one ... if you love the water and the smell of the sea this might be just the place to spend a week or two. Sailfish Point #17 is located in the family friendly community of Pirate's Cove, just over the bridge to Roanoke Island. This community is where Pirate's Cove Marina and Yacht Club is also located and they host at least six major fishing tournaments each year.

The community pool at Pirate's Cove is open from mid May to mid October and you will have access to the fitness center during your stay. There is a playground for the little ones too.

The entire family will enjoy going down to the docks when the charter boats come in. Watch them unload the catch of the day and then take a walk on the dock and wait for one of the most beautiful sunsets you will ever see.

You are minutes away from Nags Head and the famous beaches of the Outer Banks. Several outstanding restuarants can be found between Pirate's Cove and Nags Head ... right on the causeway. These include Lone Cedar Cafe, Sugar Creek and Tale of the Whale. Technically this home is located in the quaint town of Manteo on Roanoke Island. This charming little town will remind you of Mayberry, the fictional town on the old Andy Griffith show, and in fact Andy lives in Manteo year 'round now! Here is where you can spend the day at the famous Christmas Shoppe, take in all the locally owned waterfront shops, eat at one of several outstanding restaurants, visit the Elizabethan Gardens and then take in the Lost Colony Outdoor Drama in the evening.

Sailfish Point 17 is a bright and welcoming home with 4 bedrooms and 3 full baths. The kitchen is fully equipped, all applicances, toaster, blender, microwave, dishwasher and coffee maker. Need to stay connected to friends back home? No problem ... Internet access is provided.

Baby equipment is also here including a pack-n-play and a stroller. There are several TVs and DVD players and/or VCRs. Outside amenities: Hot Tub (seats 6) and gas grill.

Beds: 2 Queen beds, 2 Twin beds, 1 Pyramid Bunk with Trundle and a Queen Sleep Sofa. All the bed linens and towels are provided and beds will be made before you check in. A starter set of paper products and soaps is furnished. Sailfish 17 has a no smoking policy and pets are not permitted.

Short Stays (3 night minimum) are available at this Outer Banks vacation rental home. During Holiday Weeks, we can be very flexible with check in days. For example; you may be able to rent a vacation home from a Wednesday to Wednesday or, for short stays, from Tuesday to Friday. I have to say that the rocker/recliner in the family room was the most comfortable chair I have ever sat in. I would love to know the maker of that chair. I want one just like it!! It made recovery from the steps a little easier.
