Dear Mother Persimmons,

I hope all is well with you and Father Persimmons. Thank you again for the lovely portrait of the two of you; what a unique and memorable birthday present.

Jackson and I have been busy finding the vacation home for our annual trip to the Outer Banks this year and we wanted to share the details with you since you all will be joining us yet again ... this makes the the tenth straight year we have all vacationed together, doesn't it?

As you know we always rent through Village Realty because of the outstanding customer service and the fact that they provide all the bed linens and bath towels and even make the beds. This year we found a larger house for us since our family has grown quite a bit since last summer.

The house is named 'Crabcake' and is located on the oceanside in Nags Head...approximately 575 feet to beach access. There is a private pool and a hot tub; which I remember you saying you felt really helped your arthritis last year...several times in fact.

Father Persimmons mentioned that he used to be a Horseshoe Champ so we are delighted to tell you that this home does have a horseshoe pit. I am sure Father P and my four boys will have fun with this.

Our two oldest boys are each bringing a friend with them and I thought it only fair to tell you this now since you said "your nerves" were bothered last year with all the noise. And, my brother and his wife are also joining us they have two little girls, ages five and seven. This home is so spacious and has so many things to offer the children that hopefully your nerves will not be affected this time.

Between the pool and the basketball goal, horseshoes and the pool table I think all the children will be occupied outside most of the time.

Last year I remember that you were not happy that your bedroom did not have a TV in it but you will not have to worry about that as each bedroom has a TV and there is also a TV in the game room and a 50" Plasma in the great room.

The pool looks wonderful and there are speakers in the pool area so we can have another dance party like we did last year. Although you did not attend, I am sure you heard the laughing and fun through your bedroom window and we certainly hope you will join in the fun this year.

You do not need to worry about me being able to keep up with the cleaning either (you were worried about that last time we spoke) because my sister in law will be happy to help and besides, I have asked my next door neighbor and her teen age daughter to join us and they both love kids.

Bedsides there are two dishwashers, two microwaves, two refrigerators and a high efficiency washer and dryer so I am sure we will be able to meet your expectations but if not, please feel free to take over the clean up yourself as I assure you we will not be offended.

Last but not least you will be able to bring your little dog, Princess, with you this year as 'Crabcake' is pet friendly. I know how miserable you were without her last year as you spoke about her frequently.

There are three kings beds, two queen beds, two twin beds and two pyramid bunks with a trundle bed so that is more than enough space for everyone coming. And again, Village Realty makes the beds before we get there so we can start enjoying our week right away.

Crabcake is located near Mile Post 15 in Nags Head so it is close to the outlet mall and Owen's Restaurant, two of your favorite places. We are going to go on a a deep sea fishing tour this time and you are welcome to join us if you like although I know that boats are not your favorite thing.

Jackson, your wonderful son, is already planning on what foods he is going to grill for us and was so excited that he will have a gas grill at his disposal that week. All in all we feel we have found the perfect vacation home and we have already made our first payment.

Just the facts --

This home has a heated private pool, hot tub, easy beach access, completely new carpet and furnishings.

Pet-friendly, 7 bedrooms, 7-1/2 baths, a rec room with pool table, wet bar, horseshoes, gas fireplace, outside shower, less than 1,000 feet to the beach. Nine TVs including a 50" plasma in the great room, 5 DVDs, DVD library, 3 VCRs, VHS library, iPod docking station with CD, surround sound, stereo, wireless internet access (please bring your laptop computer), outside speakers for pool area, basketball goal and gas grill. Child friendly features include a playpen, high chair and pack-n-play. Please note the garage is not available.

Short Stays (less than a week) are available at this Nags Head vacation rental home; there is a 3 night minimum. During Holiday Weeks like Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years, we can be very flexible with check in days. For example; you may be able to rent a vacation home from a Wednesday to Wednesday or Monday to Monday ... or, for short stays, from Tuesday to Friday, etc. Please call 800.548.9688 for rates and other details.

All bed linens and towels are furnished and beds are made prior to arrival. A starter set of toilet paper, paper towels and hand soaps is provided. Village Realty will clean the home on check out day.

We know it's important to stay connected. This Outer Banks vacation home does offer wireless (or wired) internet service (computer not included) at no additional charge. Please keep in mind the Outer Banks often experiences downtime with this service and it can take multiple days to resolve issues when they occur. Village Realty is happy to provide internet service as a back up when this occurs and our services are available at every check in location.

Everyone was outstanding. Stacey Williams worked with us to resolve the problem with our initial rental and we can not be more pleased with her and VRO for taking care of us when our Original rental fell through. Crabcake was obviously an upgrade and we did not have to pay anything additional.
