This beautiful Outer Banks vacation home is nestled among live oak trees in the Currituck Club, an upscale, gated, golf community with walking/biking trails and the immediate feel of an ideal suburban community. Enjoy numerous recreational activities and let the free trolley pick you up at the front door and take you the short ride through the beautiful neighborhood to the Atlantic Ocean beaches for a day of sun and surf.

Walk up to the long front porch with rocking chairs and step into a resort retreat. On the upper level the open-floor living area, with high ceilings, beautiful windows and walls bathed in Mediterranean golden yellow, merges the living room, dining room, and gourmet kitchen into a comfortable area where family and friends can share special times. With three private master suites Arlington Away is ideal for couples.

Need to escape inside? Slip down to the den on the lower level or up the spiral stairs to a loft that overlooks the living room and offers sweeping panoramic views of the sound. Try out one of two indoor Jacuzzi tubs.

But, you won't want to stay inside very long. From every room you are drawn to the outdoors by the spectacular views of Currituck Sound and the pristine marshes. You have now left the urban and suburban behind. You feel alone with nature. Geese and numerous other birds fly across the sky. A grey fox trots across the yard. Deer come to check you out. A huge turtle ambles across the crunchy leaves. Watch a different palette of sunsets every day, and at night the whole universe of stars grace the sky like confetti. Bring your binoculars.

If your eyes are ever sated, focus on other outdoor treats: a 16' x 30' pool, hot tub, three dining tables (each with seating for six), two sitting areas (each with loveseat and two chairs), play on your own sand volley ball court, shoot hoops, or simply settle back in one of six loungers.

Hungry? Do some serious grilling on a four-burner Ducane gas grill. Forgot jalapeos or catsup? Go left out of the front of the house and walk or bike to the Harris Teeter grocery, about three city blocks away. Need steamed crabs, a late night cocktail, or pizza carryout? Turn right and bike/walk/drive approximately a mile to the seafood, Metropolis Tapas Restaurant & Bar, or the Pizza Guy.

When a storm rolls in, enjoy a magnificent view of the weather and then take an opportunity to read a book, watch a video on any of several VCRs and DVDs, or play a game. We recommend dominoes. Plug your iPod into the living room stereo or take the tunes outside from the stereo in the den. Need to burn some energy on a rainy day? Go to the garage for table tennis or foosball.

Have to work? Don't! No choice? Go ahead and connect your laptop to high-speed wi-fi or use the house computer with Microsoft Office and a laser printer.

Be green. Arlington Away is committed to sustainability. This season almost all lighting has been converted to CFLs or LEDs. The new refrigerator, dishwasher, and washing machine are all Energy Star rated. Please recycle and conserve energy through the use of ceiling fans to reduce air conditioning.

Beds: 1 King, 2 Queens, 4 Twins, Queen Sleeper Sofa. Parking available for 4-5 cars. All bed linens and towels are furnished and beds are made prior to arrival. A starter set of toilet paper, paper towels and hand soaps is provided. Village Realty will clean the home on check out day.
