Kill Devil Hills milepost 8.5 on the bypass
Wood-fired grill, open year-round, slightly more upscale than most Outer Banks restaurants, but not at all stuffy or intimidating. Their philosophy is to start with high-quality ingredients and keep the preparation as simple and unadorned as possible. In addition to corn-fed Western beef, they also offer ribs, veal, lamb, chicken and fresh seafood., and have an extensive wine list. Nags Head Sales agent Ruth Ann names a few: “Excellent food. Good place for a quiet relaxing meal. Fish is always fresh, great apps, salads, steaks and ribs. Ever changing always interesting wine list.” JK’s relaxing atmosphere makes for a perfect date night or adults night out according to Maggie of Nags Head Reservations. Linda from Human Resources “loves the mesquite and nice variety on the menu”. And Ansley from Association Management says JK’s is “hands down one of the best restaurants on the beach! Everything on the menu is great, but the Chicken and Ribs Combo is to die for!”

Mike Dianna’s Grill Room

Timbuck II Shopping Center, Corolla
This restaurant was once the northern outpost of JK’s, and the emphasis on quality and simple preparation still shows through. Local restaurateur Mike Dianna decided to go his own direction, adding crab cakes and several seafood and pasta dishes, while still offering a good selection of steaks, ribs and lamb. Reservations accepted, live music on deck Monday through Friday in season.

Jeannie from Web Services loves everything about it, and Jackie of Nags Head Sales suggests you try the “most delicious she crab soup on the planet”. Lots of fresh local seafood selections, everything is homemade and the water views are unbeatable!
