Ruth Ann Ross graduated from Virginia Tech in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. She spent many years in the hospitality business and in management. She has been a full-time licensed real estate agent for the past three years.
Originally from Richmond, she spent her summers vacationing with her family in Nags Head as a child, and lived and worked here during the summers while in college. In 1984 Ruth Ann moved to Nags Head permanently, where she lives with her husband, Jeff, who owns and operates the charter boat Obsession out of Pirate's Cove Marina in Manteo.
Ruth Ann loves living in Nags Head and is very active in the local community. She currently is an active board member of the Friends of Jockey's Ridge and has worked with the Town of Nags Head on a past project for beach nourishment education.

Her hobbies and interest are many. Ruth Ann has studied and practiced yoga for more than 15 years; she loves gardening and is quite knowledgeable about native plants; and she loves to cook--especially when her husband brings home freshly caught fish! For relaxation, Ruth Ann enjoys taking long beach walks with friends; she is an avid reader; and sometimes she even gets to go off-shore fishing with her husband!
