Bettie Blanchard is a true native of the Outer Banks. Since 1946, her family has owned and operated a building supply company, Kellogg's, and a retail business, The Cottage Shop, with locations in Manteo, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Duck. She lives in downtown Manteo with her husband, Tom, and her "grand-dog" Lexus.
Bettie graduated from East Carolina University in 1971. She then taught high school, worked in the family business, and raised three sons. During this time, she has been involved in numerous volunteer organizations such as the Outer Banks Community Foundation, Dare County State of the Child, East Carolina University Merchandising Advisory Board, and the Dare County School System where she is a strong youth advocate.
Bettie and her family have owned and invested in real estate on the Outer Banks for many years. She believes the natural beauty of the Outer Banks, its unique place in American history, and its friendly people make it a wonderful place to live or visit.
In 2004, Bettie began her real estate career hoping to share her love of the area with people wanting to be a part of this seaside community. Bettie has more than five years of experience as a real estate agent on the Outer Banks. She joined the Village Realty team because of the company's reputation for integrity and outstanding service to clients.
