Bettie Blanchard is a true native of the Outer Banks. Since 1946, her family has owned and operated a building supply company, Kellogg's, and a retail business, The Cottage Shop, with locations in Manteo, Kill Devil Hills, Nags Head and Duck. Ruth Ann Ross graduated from Virginia Tech in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biochemistry. She spent many years in the hospitality business and in management. She has been a full-time licensed real estate agent for the past three years.
