The Outer Banks 8k is an out and back course starting in Kill Devil Hills at First Flight High School. You will run through Nags Head Woods Maritime Forest and finish at the track. Course is walker friendly. Note that this course is partly on a dirt road.

Buccaneer 5K
An out-and-back course (part of the Outer Banks 8K course) starting at the First Flight High School (FFHS) track in Kill Devil Hills. You will run along Old Nags Head Woods Road, and finish at FFHS.

Village Realty teams up to support runners at the
OBX Marathon

What’s a marathon without supporters? Not much fun for the runners. Organizers of the 5th annual Outer Banks Marathon encouraged local businesses to get creative and have fun while manning aide stations located along the marathon and half marathon course.

The team from Village Realty went the extra mile providing runners with music, refreshments and their very own squad of cheerleaders.

They donned specially made pirate T-shirts, dancing and singing to the lyrics of the “YMCA” by The Village People. "I think we played that song about 20 times," quipped Maslin Seal, a Village Realty team member. "Some of them looked like they had practiced ahead of time!"

Not only did the Village Realty team unite on the sidelines, VP Dorie Fuller and Broker Matt Whelan completed the Half-Marathon and First Colony Inn innkeeper Sarah Close and Broker Caroline Basnight completed the Full Marathon.

As one runner commented; "It was a great day all around. Seeing the kids on the sidelines wearing the pirate t-shirts hanging down to their knees as they cheered us on along with the rest of the self-title Village Realty People was motivational and kept our spirits up."
