Chowder Cook Off
The Annual Outer Banks Chowder Cook Off is held each fall. This event encourages area restaurants and individuals to compete to make the best chowder in a variety of categories. And, what better time of year to sample chowder than in October, when the normally warm Outer Banks weather starts to turn cooler for the season?
There is an entry fee for those who want to compete, and general admission tickets allow attendees a taste of all the chowder they desire. Kids 12 and under are admitted to the Cookoff for free.
Competition categories for the participants include chowder specialties in Seafood, Meat, Wild Game and Vegetarian. A variety of raffles will be held to give away a number of great prizes, and live entertainment will also be at the event for all to enjoy.
