Hosting the event is Count Sharkula who always scares up lots of ghoulish fun. Crazy costume contests, creepy crafts, spine-tingling scream contests and yummy munchies are just a few of the things to howl about. Tickets are limited. Ticket sales begin October 1st and will be sold at the Aquarium. All children must be accompanied by an adult.

Outer Banks Marathon and Half Marathon
Friday, November 12, 2010 TO Sunday, November 14, 2010 Various Locations The course of the OBX Marathon and Half Marathon includes varied scenic coastal terrain, as well as incredible community and spectator support. This race is a Boston-Marathon qualifier and is walker-friendly.
Registration for the 2010 event is now available.
The event will begin with the EXPO at the Dare County Youth Center in Kill Devil Hills at 602 Mustian Street. The EXPO will be on Friday, November 12 from 1:00 to 7:00 p.m. and on Saturday, November 13 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The EXPO will feature a variety of official race apparel, running and athletic gear, music, food and training clinics.
The Oceanfront Pasta Party will be held at The Ramada Plaza at 1701 Virginia Dare Trail in Kill Devil Hills on Saturday, November 13 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The cost for the party is $15 per person.
The Gateway Bank Half Marathon, held at 7:00 a.m. on Sunday, November 14, is $60 to $100 per person to enter. This walker-friendly course will be mainly flat and fast with coastal and scenic views and incredible community and spectator support. The course time limit will be 3:00 p.m.
The Outer Banks Marathon, starting at 7:20 a.m. on Sunday, November 14 with a 3:00 p.m. course limit, is $75 to $110 per person to enter. The terrain will be varied, including coastal and scenic views, incredible community and spectator support and is a walker-friendly course. This race is a Boston Marathon qualifier. Runners will need to maintain a pace of 17:10 per mile to "beat the bridge" at mile 22 - the bridge will be closed to runners at 1:50 p.m. Up to 2500 runners will be allowed to enter the Outer Banks Marathon.
Outer Banks 8K
Saturday, November 13, 2010 Near the First Flight Schools Campus An out-and-back course which will start in Kill Devil Hills, continue through Nags Head Woods Maritime Forest and finish at the First Flight High School track. The course is partly on a dirt road, the race is walker-friendly. Up to 1,000 runners will be accepted into the Outer Banks 8K, which is hosted by the Outer Banks Running Club.

107th Annual Celebration of the Wright Brothers First Flight
Friday, December 17, 2010 TO Friday, December 17, 2010 Wright Brothers National Memorial Gather at the exact site at the exact time as the historic flight to remember, reflect and celebrate this milestone. The daylong anniversary tribute will be held at the site of Wright's first flight. Visitors to the site experience a replica of the Wright Brothers' 1903 encampment and majestic, 60-foot tall granite monument perched atop a 90-foot hill that serves a striking and lasting reminder of the important historical achievement that happened on this site a century ago.
