Outer Banks Sounds

The Dare County Arts Council and the The Sound radio station (99.1 fm) have joined together to present Outer Banks Sounds. They looked for for local musicians and/or bands who can play original, unlicensed music and can submit a CD for consideration to be a part of this performance series. Kelly's Restaurant in Nags Head (http://www.kellysrestaurant.com) hosts these showcases every third Thursday from 7 pm - 9 pm from October through April. Selected musicians and/bands will be invited to play one showcase. Each one selected will have one of their tracks included on the Outer Banks Sounds CD recording in addition to a chance to perform on live radio, industry lunch, exposure a small honorarium and tweny copies of the CD.

January 19th performers will be Sean Bandula, Ruth Wyand and Jug Tucker.

A CD release party and a performance will be held at the end of this eight month program. This should be sometime in May 2012.

All proceeds from the CD sales will benefit the Community Music School. You can read more about this school at www.darearts.org/community-outreach.
