Nags Head, NC - President of Village Realty, Bob Oakes recently earned his designation as a Certified Property Manager® (CPM®)from the Institute of Real Estate Management recognizing him as an expert in real estate management, at the top of his profession. "70% of those who hold the CPM® designation hold the highest management positions (owner/partner or officer/director) than those without the designation."

Bob has lived in Nags Head for 25 years and is the owner of Village Realty. He is the current Mayor of Nags Head and has served on the Nags Head Planning Board and the Citizen's Advisory Committee, as well as the Board of Commissioners for over six years.

This designation required completing seven courses with topics ranging from leasing, facility maintenance, financial analysis, management plan skills assessment (MPSA) and a certification exam. Oakes began taking courses for this "Gold Standard" in real estate management in 1995 and is currently the only Certified Property Manager® designation holder on the Outer Banks. Village Realty Vice President, Dorie Fuller is currently a candidate for the program.

Certified Property Manager's® adhere to a Real Estate Management Code of Professional Ethics pledging honesty, integrity and industriousness beneficial to the general public encouraging fair and equitable practices and competition among all who are engaged in the profession of real estate management.
